Yes! You Can Write

As a market researcher the importance of writing is underscored by the fact that the most exciting research idea will not sell and the most startling research findings will be lost if the prose is cumbersome and boring. Elizabeth Harper Neeld’s approach to writing provided me the tools to write quickly, get maximum impact and write in a way that’s both enjoyable to me and engaging to the reader.

Thank you very much for the gift of your approach to writing. It was both profound and practical for me, and I am now using the heuristics of her approach in my writing. I have written a small program for my computer which manages the timing of three cycles of the creating techniques I learned from Elizabeth. I have also developed a system for organizing my ideas on the computer. In addition to the practical value I found in the workshop, there was a more profound side for me. I experienced a new pride in and reverence for my trade.

As a consulting engineer, my income depends on my performance After having Elizabeth Neeld’s approach to writing available to me I found I completed my work more quickly and effectively. Also, I discovered an ability to communicate not possible for me before. To this day I am using the techniques I learned from Elizabeth in my work. These techniques provide me the ability to manage my thoughts in a way that I reach more powerful conclusions in a shorter period of time. Consequently, my bottom line—both financially and personally—directly reflects this.

Since I completed The Elizabeth Neeld Writing Workshop, I now write in 10 minutes what I used to take 10 months to get finished. No muss. No fuss. The writing just comes. I now write with pleasure, not dread.

Everyday I do a lot of communication with my staff in locations all around the country—different communications ranging from large and complex to short and personal. In the past I agonized over these daily communications and took hours to get the memos out. Since learning Elizabeth Neeld’s approach to writing I have discovered an ability to create my memos quickly, trust my creativity as I write them, and then have something great to edit when I get through. Without a doubt, I have had, since the workshop, a breakthrough I my ability to communicate through writing, and the form this takes is writing memos.
Two weeks ago I also put what I had learned to use on a grant proposal for a massive research project I am about to do. Writing this grant proposal is probably something I wouldn’t have ever done before Elizabeth’s workshop. I would have found some reason not to write it. But as a result of Dr. Neeld’s workshop I wrote the entire grant proposal in two weeks, and the writing had an effortless quality about it. I found I could just sit down and crack ther project out.

The techniques taught by Dr. Elizabeth Neeld really work. One day, after I had taken her course, another copywriter and I were doing concept work for a new major ad campaign for one of our clients. We were stuck. I quickly taught my colleague one of the techniques I had learned from Elizabeth. Within minutes after beginning to sue the Neeld approach, we had a breakthrough in our thinking and in our writing, and the whole advertising campaign rolled out from under our pens.
